Carving the Pumpkins

Before last year I had never carved a pumpkin. When my FIL heard this he decided it was time to start a tradition. So he bought pumpkins and spent an afternoon carving away.
It continues with this year. FIL bought 8 pumpkins and brought them to the house today. We carved four of them. I got a few pics of Lil' Red working on his but unfortunately didn't get any of him actually carving. Oops on my part. I'm hoping the pics of him working will be alright. Enjoy!
Baby Girl decided she wanted to sleep more than she wanted to mess with a messy pumpkin. ;) haha
Pics of Lil' Red working hard:
Dig! Dig! Dig!
"Mom, my hand hurts!"
Hubby got into it too:

Close up, well, closer:

Lil' Red had a great time. We still have four more to go so I think it might be something to do with my neices too. Unfortunately I'm going to be a little selfish and ask my sister to buy their own pumpkins. There's another pattern I want to do. :)

In other news: I rented Transformers. The new movie. I thought it was great. Loved all the action and special effects were awesome! Must see if you have a sense of humor like mine! :) On the other hand, Hubby watched the series back in the 80's and he didn't like the movie. He said that things were too messed up for him and it couldn't keep his attention.

Also rented Evan Almighty. It was ok. I thought Bruce Almighty was better. Don't get me wrong I laughed in parts but not as much as with the first one.

Went to Haunted Houses last night. Talk about FUN!!! The one that had Jigsaw really disappointed me. If I blinked I would have missed it. The cool thing about these now was some parts were 3D. They gave you glasses and it would so freak you out! Especially the room with all the big circles and then one of the circles would come out at you and scream! I was kind of buzzing so it seemed cooler I guess to me or maybe that took it all away. I don't know but I had a blast! The best one we went to was in the basement of an old courthouse. Part of the floor was uneven dirt. It was so creepy. There were exposed gas and water lines everywhere and you really had to watch your head plus your feet. I was only chased a couple of three times. There was a group of girls in front of us and one of them would say "Hi!" to them as she went by. They already knew they were seen by the closest ones behind them. Bummer. She took some of that away from the experience.

What do you think? Would it bug you that someone would do that? If you payed $20 to get in (of course that was a combo ticket), would you be upset?

My friend was upset about it at the time and looking back I'm bumming about it too. At any rate we had a good dinner, got scared an awful lot, and went to the casino. I wasn't ready to go home! haha

Fall Break and a Birthday...

As I said last week the kids were out on Fall Break. THEY ARE NOW BACK!!! :) I'm glad. I had all four of them all week. Now I'm down to baby girl. Who's taking her socks off thinking she's being all sly. haha

Anyway, spent the week playing with them. Sat was Jeff's little boy's birthday. I made his cake too. Used an old Wilton Superman Pan and converted it into a Spiderman cake. Here are some pics:

I think they liked it. lol :)

My youngest neice. Her eyes. I kept telling her that we needed to get her devil horns on. lol

We had a sleepover Friday night, got up Sat morning baked the cake and decorated all day, went to the party then dropped kids off with Nana, went to a friends' house for a little party. We didn't get home until 3:30am. I'm soooooo tired today. lol
Well, time to put baby girl down for a nap. :)

Not feeling real social lately...

Not real sure why exactly. I'm finding it real hard to get on the computer. Hopeful things will change soon. I miss my online friends badly. Maybe once it gets too cold to go outside and things slow down a little bit. Sorry for my bad bloggin' lately.

I've had a list of things that I wanted to say but as soon as I get on here I lose them. You ever have that? haha
I do have pics of the kids....

She has hair! haha Sorry but I'm excited to be able to put it in pig tails.

Here's baby girl riding her bike Saturday after our local festival. She was tired and loaded on way to much candy. Hehe By the way, who in their right mind gives out Freeze Pops during a parade? Maybe I just don't get it but I think it's a silly idea. These weren't even frozen. They threw them and most of them burst and leaked. YUCK!! Of course the kiddos wanted to have them but I forgot my scissors in my drawer at home. Silly me!
Lil' Red on his bike. Only two good shots I got of them all day. I didn't bring my camera to the parade. Figured I would be keeping Baby Girl out of the way of the parade. I was right.

I spent all day today baking a cake for my neighbor's daughter. Started the oven at 8am this morning and finished decorating a little after 4pm. Whew! I only had few breaks since I started. Anyway, here's the finished product...

To give a better idea of the size.

I used the Romantic Castle Cake Kit from Wilton. So far I really like it. It has so many different uses. Anywhere from a Princess Castle to a Haunted Castle for Halloween. Can't wait to try that one.

She wanted a complete chocolate cake which turned out great. I didn't use Fondant so the crumbs from the cake mixed with the white icing made it look like a type of marble to me. Pretty cool effect.

I've also had some more dental work done. Had to have some more teeth pulled and now waiting for it to heal so I can get some more teeth. My dentist has come to the conclusion that since my teeth went downhill almost right after I had baby girl that pregnancy took too much from me. I then got an infection which I couldn't fight off as well. Oh well, I'm really self-conscious about it. Drives me nuts actually. I've brushed my teeth EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. since I've been able to do it on my own and I'm losing them. I have to fight the urge to be so angry or jealous of someone that I know doesn't brush like they should and they have PERFECT teeth.

I'm so embarrassed by them I don't smile as often as I should. It's only going to get worse when we work on the top. Right now it's easy to conceal since it's only the bottom. At any rate, I've still got stitches and am only able to eat mushy things. Which might help with weight loss. The biggest thing that gets me for the time being is that I'm in the choir at my church and getting in front of all those people is almost pure torture. Not to mention that I've started voice lessons because I'm extremely rusty. He thinks I've should have been doing solos months ago. I'm just so scared that my horrible teeth will be seen. The only thing that makes me feel better is the knowledge that I tried everything to keep my teeth healthy. Life and genetics got in the way.

To know people actually look down on others based on their teeth hurts. I wonder what do they think of me? I'm automatically lumped into a group of people that don't take care of themselves. Which couldn't be further from the truth. It hurts to know that I'm not approached because people will assume I'm disgusting when in reality my tooth loss was of no fault of my own.

Sorry about that. Kind of got off on a tangent but it made me feel better anyway. I guess I better get off here. I'm thinking of tackling the thousands of pics stored on the computer. This could take awhile. ;) Till next time!

Books, Ear aches, and Softball...

Hey!

Sorry it's been awhile. Things been pretty busy. For one thing I have finished the entire Harry Potter series a couple of weeks ago. I have read all 7 books plus the 7th twice. Went and seen "Order of the Phoenix" Friday before last in 3D. Pretty cool even though it was only the last 20 mins in 3D. Still worth it. I loved all the books, couldn't put them down.

In just this past week, Baby girl used the potty and we got all the tangles out of her hair, FINALLY. She's still scared of the brush but I'm hoping she'll get used to it. :)

We have bought another snake. He is a Brazillian Rainbow Boa named Ti. Pictures will come when I can get them on here.

I have also been playing softball in our church league for our church. The tournement was last week and we won the championship game. Ironically it was against the only team to beat us all season. This was my first time ever playing on a team. Did pretty good I think. :)

I also had to miss a couple of games due to ear infections. They were so bad the doctor gave me Lortabs to take the pain away. Couldn't play while on those, my poor neighbor babysat me till my sister got off work. He was so great. Took care of me and my kids all night. Wouldn't let me do a thing. Which meant he was basically watching 6 kids by himself.

I don't know anything else other than we need rain. The temps have came down and October is next month. Can't wait! :)

I'm a bad scrapbooker....

Went to Easter dinner today and forgot my camara. No pics of the kids hunting for eggs. :( At least not yet. My mom had hers so I think I'll just get copies from her. The kids had fun though.

We got Princess out of her tank for a little bit today. I finally got a good picture of her (we got lots of pics actually).

That's Jeremy's hand beside her. She is so small right now. Just a baby. She acts just like a baby too. She was coming towards me when I shot this but she didn't like the flash so she took off the other way. Oops. hehe She did get over it though and came too me. I let her climb on my legs. At one point I laid down and didn't notice where she was going. I felt a tickle on my tummy. She was going IN my shirt. I guess she thought it was warm in there. hehe

Here's some more:
Her tank...
Her head...she's so little.
Full body...
Her tail...
I caught her under her hideaway...

After all the anxiety I had about getting a snake, I have absolutely fallen for her. I want to get her out all the time and just play with her but I know I can't. I won't get her out right now, she's just to young. Jeremy is the only one that can get her out. She still has not bitten or even tried to bite yet. Well, there was once where she tried but Jeremy deserved it.

Anyway, Happy Easter to everybody! Hope you had a great day and found all your eggs! :)

Tired...

We went out last night with a guy that Jeremy works with and his fiance and a friend of theirs. Had a really good time, although I coughed pretty much all night. Ugh. I hate lingering coughs. Mine seems to not want to go away. Oh well, it'll get better.

We went to a Japanese resteraunt last night with one of those Hibatchi grills. It's expensive but worth it just to watch them cook the food. Plus all the fire tricks they do. Then we went to a casino boat. We cashed out a $20 bill and each of us took $10 worth of ones. We came out with over $54. haha Well, Jeremy did. I lost all mine. My luck just was not there. His was though. :) We went to a bar and it was so dead. There was a guy performing. He had a guitar and was singing all by himself. Had the atmosphere of kereoke. I bet there weren't 30 people in this place. The guys wanted to play pool. Guess what no cue ball. Went down to get one. They want $5 PLUS your ID and that's not all. They don't have anymore cue balls left. Ummm no thank you. Went to another bar but wasn't feeling it there so we left.

Decided we should try breakfast, well one of the guys did. ;) Went to Denny's. Sat there for awhile before our order was taken. Horrible service. We got that meal for free.

Tonight we went to the pet store where we bought Princess and looked at more snakes. Jeremy wants another one. We've got Princess in the big tank now but I can't take any pics because she's going through a shed. She sat in her water bowl since yesterday till tonight when we changed her water. Poor thing was so cold. :( She should be warm now though. Nice and comfy. Keeping our fingers crossed that this shed goes well. It's her very first.

Anyway, we're at the store and they have an albino cornsnake. This thing is really freaky looking but really cool at the same time. It has red eyes! The markings on it are gorgeous. I held it and that sucker is high strung. No, we didn't come home with it. Jeremy wants to get a spotted python next. Need something that doesn't get very big. He's also looking at burmese pythons, Brazilian Rainbow Boas, and Anacondas. I know what you're thinking, cause I thought it too. He said that there's a kind of Anaconda that doesn't get huge. I don't know about it though. :/

There was a guy in there that was from California. He said that he found a rattlesnake once and put it on his dad's cowboy hat. Let me ask this, why would you do that? Let alone touch it? I'm so glad we had a discussion with Christian about snakes. We told him that just because Princess is a snake and he holds her, he is not to pick up one that he has found. If it's not from a tank, LEAVE IT ALONE! Jeremy doesn't even pick up wild snakes and he bred snakes for years. There are too many poisonous ones out there.

I've had a pretty good weekend so far. I've kept pretty busy so I haven't really thought about Friday. I do realize that I'm on the verge because I'm honestly scared. I know there's nothing I can do about it, so I shouldn't worry. It's really hard not to though. I'm trying and being gone the last couple of nights has helped. Now I'm not sure how I'll make it through next week. I can't go out every night. We'll just have to see!

Tomorrow's Easter so we'll be doing the family thing. I hope everyone's Easter goes well!

HAPPY EASTER!! :)
